Bridal Veil Lakes Wedding | Nicole & Matt's Wedding in the Woods

Matt & Nicole’s Romantic Bridal Veil Falls Wedding | Portland Wedding Photography

Matt and Nicole had the most incredible Bridal Veil Falls wedding this past August, and it was truly a day to remember. Their celebration began in Downtown Portland at the stunning Woodlark Hotel, the perfect spot for elegant getting ready wedding photos. Nicole and her bridesmaids prepped in a beautifully designed suite full of natural light, while Matt and his groomsmen hung out in the stylish bar area downstairs. The Woodlark is such a gem—it offers endless photo opportunities and sets such a chic, modern vibe for the start of any wedding day.

Once everyone was ready, the wedding party loaded onto a bus and headed to the venue. Matt, determined to keep the moment special, wore a mask over his eyes so he wouldn’t see Nicole until their official first look at Bridal Veil Lake.

That first look was nothing short of magical. On the edge of the lake, tucked among towering trees, the couple shared an intimate and emotional moment that set the tone for the rest of the day. Capturing those genuine reactions is one of my favorite parts of being a Portland wedding photographer—and Matt and Nicole’s love for each other was so clear in that instant.

Their outdoor wedding ceremony was pure magic. Set in the forest, with the sparkling lake as the backdrop, and 80-degree sunshine filtering through the trees—it honestly felt like something out of a dream. To top it all off, their sweet dog Penny made a special appearance and walked down the aisle, which had everyone smiling.

The reception was equally unforgettable. Between heartfelt toasts, incredible food, and a lively dance floor, the energy never dipped. After their first dances and traditions, the night turned into a full-on party complete with fun drinks, the money dance, and music that kept every guest on their feet.

Matt and Nicole’s wedding at Bridal Veil Falls was an absolute dream, and I’m so grateful I got to capture every laugh, tear, and dance move. It’s days like these that remind me why I love being a wedding photographer in Oregon.
