Miranda and Lucas chose Cape Kiwanda for their engagement session, and I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect setting for their photos. As an Oregon wedding photographer, Cape Kiwanda is one of my all-time favorite locations for engagement photos—it’s dramatic, romantic, and full of those wild coastal textures that make every moment feel cinematic. Not to mention the colors are out of this world!

We started the session off by running around on the beach. The backdrop of the haystack rock and the dramatic weather we were having make this session so dreamy. We could have been there all day!

As we made our way up toward the sandstone cliffs, the sky shifted into that dreamy, golden haze the Oregon Coast is famous for. The waves crashed below us while Miranda and Lucas wandered, laughed, and slipped into quiet moments of connection. One of my favorite things about photographing couples here is how the landscape invites you to slow down, breathe, and just be—and that’s exactly what these two did. No pressure. No over-posing. Just authentic, natural engagement photos that truly reflected who they are.

There were no props and no big production—just Miranda, Lucas, and the raw beauty of Cape Kiwanda. Intimate, personal, and full of genuine emotion. By the time the sun dipped below the horizon, it felt less like a photoshoot and more like spending an evening with two people who are so clearly meant for each other.
