Short Sands—Kim & Jake’s Stunning Engagement on the Oregon Coast

One of my favorite parts of being a photographer is the opportunity to travel to some of my favorite places, like this engagement shoot on the Oregon Coast. Kim and Jake were up for anything, so we all loaded into their car and headed toward the coast! We made a quick stop at my favorite coffee shop there, Sea Level, before continuing on to the beautiful trek down to Short Sands Beach. It's about a 3/4-mile walk, but it’s well worth it for the stunning scenery! We walked through a foggy forest that opened up to the moody beach. I absolutely LOVE shooting on the coast when it's overcast because it really captures the essence of Oregon. More often than not, it's rainy or gray at the coast, and those are some of my favorite memories, so it felt fitting that it was drizzling a bit throughout the shoot. Kim and Jake were such a blast to hang out with. They ran around on the empty beach, and it didn’t take much to capture some dreamy photos. You can feel how much love these two have for each other through the images, and I am so grateful that I was able to capture these special moments. <3
